in an SNV at 3:15 in the afternoon. My instructor is Ensign Stewart, a young fellow from Kansas. Seems like a pretty good gent. He showed me the stall characteristics of the plane & then let me shoot a few landings. Got a long pretty well. Drove back to the base about 6 oclock & picked up Bob, then went out to Martines for supper. Sunday - June 7 Stayed all night at the main station. Went to church in the morning, wrote some letters right after dinner, then played golf with Barker & Westbrook later in the afternoon. Hobbs, Hotchkiss, Barker & I drove out to Martines for a buffet supper. It was excellent!! Drove back to Ellyson field after taking Bob home in time for the 10 oclock bunk check. Mon - June 8 Had two more periods of instruction in an SNV then a check which I passed ok. Wrote several letters after supper. Received a note from Earl Hall of the M.
