The lot of a prisoner of war is not very good at best, but treatment at the hands of the Japanese is bestial! Flew an hour of solo then a period of formation (3 plane) with an instructor in the lead. Can't say that I did too well. Friday - Jun 12 Shot 50 more rounds of skeet this morning. Only broke 26 of them but that is better than, heretofore, and augurs for improvement. Had three hours of formation today - 3 plane. Things went better, I believe. Sat - June 13 This was a bad day for me from start to finish. On my 1st formation hop up above the clouds I got lost, more or less, as were the other two boys, but I happened to be leading. The chase pilot, a little snipe of unreasoning tongue, about had a fit when we got down & threatened to order a special check for me. He didn't think I did anything right. On the next hop a diff. chase pilot gave me hell when we got down. Its true I hadn't done very well, but not that poorly - most of the trouble lay in the fact that my
