radio wasn't working well, & I couldn't understand what he said while we were in the air. About that time the officer in the tower wanted to see me, saying that I had taken too long to get off the ground when leading off the formation, which was very true. He was quite reasonable about it, however, even though it was a rather dangerous miscue. Then I proceeded to run off to shoot some trap & forget all about the board watch I was supposed to stand. In the evening on the way out to Martines a cop stopped me for driving in the middle of the road. Happily, I got off without a ticket. What a long, long day. Sun - June 14 This is flag day, I believe, and Old Glory really means more to us & to all the world than at any other time in U.S. history. May we carry that grand banner to complete victory and soon. Stayed at the main station last night. Went to church in the morning, down to the beach in the afternoon, and
