to me from Pensacola.  That is certainly a fine paper, excellent in fact.
Tues - July 7
Had a couple of hours formation work today (3 plane).  In addition to refreshing ourselves in routine formation flying we learned how to execute cross over turns in open echelon & ABC formation.  I got along moderately well.  Don't seem to pick up this formation stuff very quickly.
Received a card from Bob this morning.  He expects to arrive here on this Friday.  He mentioned that Hemingway is getting married on the 18th & that his orders are for San Diego.  Will be flying Coronados between there & Australia.
Wed - July 8
My birthday - 24 years on this mortal coil - happy, strenuous, endeavoring years - and what of the future?  Can't view it with pessimism despite the circumstances.  
Started division cruising today,
