Saving...
Friday, July 17 At last we flew again - a dummy gunnery run. However, I piloted the tow plane & didn't learn much. Will probably start flying tomorrow. Finished Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath" It is course in language & episode, but realistic, and a tough protest against an unjust situation. The humor was rough but good - I laughed a lot. Wrote a long letter home. Sat - July 18 It is now July 21st - haven't penned a line in here for four days. Doubt if I can recall in proper order just what has happened. Do know that I have felt pretty low for the past few days. Rather hard to explain, too - just have been in the dumps for no apparent reason. Didn't fly at all today - ground school & time on our duff. Spent an hour after supper observing night flying landings.
