Saving...
Sunday - July 19 We had another dummy run again - everyone did poorly - not much fun when the chase pilot is climbing all over you most of the time. Marvin & I had liberty beginning at 5:30 secure. Drove into town for a movie & then to the Patrician for a bed & bath. Monday - July 20 Up late, read some, wrote a letter home, swam a little, a movie, something to eat, & then back to the station. Oh yes, I bought myself a small radio which should be much enjoyed by the both of us. Tuesday - July 21 Had a strafing flight - quite a bit of fun. How anyone could strafe helpless refugee columns, though, I can't imagine. Two hours of night flying after supper - good experience - wonderful view of the surrounding area at 3000'. Miami didn't look like it was having any blackout.
