Saving...
Wed - July 22 Fired at the sleeve today - great fun, but no hits for Haugebak or me - disappointing to both of us - but perhaps tomorrow. Started reading Tolstoys "War & Peace," the greatest novel ever written. It is 1350 pages long, hope I have the desire & perseverance to finish it. Thurs - July 23 Had a strafing run the last hour in the afternoon. Night flying called off because of bad weather. How fine to have a couple of hours relaxation after supper Friday - July 24 Fired on the sleeve again. I couldn't seem to get "on" it & only fired twice, & managed to get one hit. Marvin got 7 or 8 which is pretty good. Spent two hours in section practice after dark. On my last landing I ground looped, the first time anything like that ever happened to me. No damage was found for which I am very thankful. The war news is awfully dark these
