Saving...
Ken & I saw another poor show last night, & then dropped up to the Town Royale. A bunch of the fellows were in there, and we had a fine time. On the way out I was stopped by a Mr. Barrett who said he knew the folks when he lived in Adel. Received a letter & a clipping from Bob Hogan. The clipping was an article he had written about me when I entered the service. It is as nice a piece as has ever been written about me - thanks Bob. Saturday - Dec. 13, 1941 Heretofore, we have had Sat. & Sun free but starting today we are flying & going to school seven days a week. Under the circumstances that is as it should be. Ken & I went to a movie after supper. Finally saw a pretty decent bill. About 11 oclock we dropped in on the dance thrown by the Navy Mothers for the service men every Sat. night. I'm afraid there wasn't enough attraction there to draw me again. Hard to realize that we are at war.
