Saving...
Wednesday, Dec. 17. I was scheduled for my last 30 minutes in the Link trainer this morning, but, unhappily, I was scratched because Thatcher was sick. Thatcher is my instructor, and a good one from what everybody says. Ken was up again today. His enthusiastic reports make me eager to have a try at it. Navy & Army bombers come through here quite frequently. They are beautiful & adventurous looking ships. How I would like to climb into one of them and head for the Pacific area!! Didn't see anything of B. Hobbs today. Possibly he will show tomorrow. It will be great to see him again. All goes well - this is a fine experience - and it will get "finer." Thursday - Dec. 18 Getting quite impatient to fly. I have never suffered from such periods of enforced idleness as when I am out on the line. It is a bit difficult to reconcile myself to the petty detail to which I am assigned all too frequently. Here I have had 4 years of regular college
