Saving...
1200. We only got leave until 2200 Xmas night, but it was apt to be the last chance I would have to get home for a good long time so I took it. K. Pettet and three Omaha boys, Jack Tamisiea, Carleton Knowles, & Christiansen rode up with me. How good it was to get home for a while. Mother had a fine dinner for us Wednesday night and included Bob Hobbs in. Everyone was well and happy although Ben looked a bit peaked. I guess he had a very busy & strenuous quarter at school. I rather think he will be enlisting in the Navy Air Corps one of these days. If so, they will permit him to get his degree in June before calling him for training. I don't know of any better opportunity under the circumstances. What a significant thing is the meeting now taking place between Prime Minister Churchill & President Roosevelt at the White House! Henceforward,
