Friday, Dec. 26. Was scheduled for instruction the third hour during the morning, but heavy weather prevented my going up. Took part in the delightful custom known around here as "field day," to wit, clean & scrub the entire barracks. Very dreary pastime, and a once a week demand, instead of a monthly, as I previously thought. Practiced some radio after supper. Am not picking that up as quickly as I would like to. Saturday - Dec. 27 Finished my third hour of instruction this A.M. We spent the entire time spiraling in for landings from a 1000! I was no star this trip, but feel that next time I will be able to handle them alright. Had an excited letter from Bob saying that his orders had arrived and that they directed him to report Jan 24th instead of the second. I phoned Comm'd'r
