I was disappointed that the Register didn't carry a full text of Churchill's speech before the U.S. Congress a few days ago. Judging from the excerpts he did his usual masterful job. In my estimation he and Lincoln outrank all other statesmen in the art of expression in the English language. Wednesday - Dec.31 Foggy weather prohibited flying both in the morning and in the afternoon. In a five word radio test I managed to get the full five the second time it was given. In fact, some how or another, I managed to take 36 characters in a row without an error. The new year went out with a bang here in K. City last night.At 12 midnight the downtown streets were packed with a milling crowd of inebriates celebrating in the customary American way.
