Saving...
Saw a movie again tonight, and the newsreel showed Churchill giving his address before a joint session of Congress. I have said much concerning his incomparable ability of expression, but I have not said enough about his natural flare for the dramatic. He is a colorful figure in his every move and utterance. But what completely wins you over is his boyish, genuine smile. He loves crowds and the crowds love him. Each to the other is a happy complement. A few quotations that appeal to me follow: "I would rather fail in a cause that is bound to triumph than to triumph in a cause that was sure to lose." "If you can talk with crowds & keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch" -R. Kipling "In war, Resolution, in victory, Magnanimity, in defeat, Defiance, in peace, - W. Churchill.
