Saving...
Friday - Jan 2. The storm of the last day and a half left our flying field completely covered with a sheet of ice. There was no flying in the morning, and in the afternoon only those flew who had checks coming up. Am beginning to get the hang of radio, I believe. It will be a lot of fun as soon as I can take it rapidly. Bob Hobbs got in about four oclock. Thanks to a whispered word to one of the boys in the ground school office, he will be bunking in the same wing as Ken & I. Bob & I went to a movie in K.C., Mo. which caused me to miss a board talk by Lt. Thatcher, my instructor. I was aware that he was going to give one the next time he had the watch, but I neglected to find out when that would be. It was an excellent lecture, the boys say. Had my car towed in for battery and muffler repair. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow night. I trust the bill won't look like the nat'l debt.
