Saving...
movie with it was worse. It was getting colder & colder when we returned to the base. Sunday - Jan 4. It was even colder yet this morning - 5 below according to reports. I started off to church about ten oclock but unhappily the battery in my car was dead once again. It must be shot because I just had it charged up yesterday. Decided to take the bus and trolley car in lieu of a car. Rather a long, cold trip to the east side of the downtown district in K.C. Mo. There may be dirtier and poorer street cars than the ones I rode, but I don't know where they are. Stayed in town for lunch, read the D.M. Register until 2 oclock, then went up to the Reading Room for an hour. finally got back to the base about 3:30 in the afternoon. Bob and I saw the movie "One Foot in Heaven" after supper. It was a thoroughly fine show - enjoyed it very much.
