Tuesday - Jan 6 Am getting pretty close to a check - seven hours of instruction have now been completed - only two to go. Flew to Sherman field at Leavenworth this morning. Made several landings cross wind which was fine practice. The garage brought my car back tonight with the good news that the battery was ok - just a loose wire or connection, I guess. Will know for sure tomorrow when I try to start it after it has been standing all night. The female reporter of shapely proportions who took my picture yesterday morning in full winter flight gear left several prints at the base tonight for me. Am well pleased with both the shots she took. Will be interested to see what she says in her article which appears in the Kansan tomorrow. Called Merle McKay tonight, a gal of comely appearance and interesting figure who used to go to Iowa. Unhappily, she wasn't in, but I shall call again.
