Saving...
The cold weather continues. True, it doesn't make for comfortable flying, but, nonetheless, I like it - if it doesn't continue for too long. The changing seasons of the midwest - the intense heat in summer, bitter cold in winter, and unsurpassable beauty and invigorating weather of fall & spring - is what makes it an interesting place to live. Only robust and virile people can live in such a climate and enjoy it. Section 45 & 46 left for the pool at New Orleans today. What a happy, enthusiastic group they were! May a like lot be mine during the forepart of February. I hope I have the pleasure of running into Sharp, Wright, Roberts, Rickert, and several others again sometime. They are all fine fellows. Pettit soloed today. How relieved & carefree he feels tonight. He presents quite a contrast to his temperament last night when the pressure was on. I am glad for him. He wants to make the grade intensely.
