for flying. Took 6.8 on a 7 w.p.m. radio test. Not bad - but am a little disappointed. Was rather sure I could take them solid at that rate. Sgt. Caldwell gave us a little O'Ggrady drill at 1oclock. It was some satisfaction to me to be the last man standing. That's where a leader should come out - on top. Bob, Ken, & I had a huge dinner in town and then went to see the movie, H.M. Pulham, Esq, - not too sharp. We all look forward to getting to town for a sumptuous meal now & then, however. Sunday - Jan. 11 Church in the morning, lunch with Bob at the Hereford Grill and then back to the barracks to leisurely read the D.M. Sunday Register. Man, did I have a good deal this evening! By far the best since I have been in Kansas City. I am referring to my date with Merle McKay. She turned out to be just as comely, just as shapely, and just as nice as I had
