Saving...
remember her at Iowa. Her family lives on the Kansas side of K. City out quite a ways in a fine residential district. Her father travels for a wholesale coffee company and wasn't home, but her mother and two younger brothers were on hand. I was well impressed with the whole family and happy to learn that we were Christian Scientists as I had heard. I knocked at their door about 6:15 PM and was graciously asked to come in by Mrs. McKay. We all visited for an half hour or so then Mrs. McKay took the boys out to supper somewhere and left Merle and me to have sandwiches, milk, etc, in front of the fireplace by ourselves. Not bad, not bad -- a fine home, good radio music, a pretty girl, and a fireplace fire, what could be better? Unhappily, since I had to be at the base by ten I was compelled to leave about 9:45. Would like to pursue this possibility a little further but there are several things which militate against it. First, she has play practice every night in the week, second, I won't have anymore free Sat.
