nights if I solo today, because I'll be flying Sundays, thirdly, I have a haunting hunch she may be tied up with a certain Sigma Nu in D. Moines. The first two reasons will bother me considerably more than the third, however. Happy day - I sure could take a few more nights like that. Can't help making the observation that the college athletes that I know of at this base are the ones who do the least bitching at work detail to be done and who most energetically attempt what is required of them. It is quite a relief to a section leader who is responsible for the completion of certain routine work to have a few such boys around. Monday - Jan 12. Today, finally and at last, I soloed. My check flights with Mr. Bergen and Mr. Jenkins were nothing to crow about, but happily they gave me upchecks.
