Saving...
Wednesday - Jan 14. Took 8 words a minute in radio this morning. After yesterday's performance it was quite a happy surprises. Hope I can keep it up. Was permitted my second hour of solo this afternoon. Rather a sad exhibition, I'm afraid. There was a rather treacherous cross winds which made landings somewhat difficult. Certainly, I didn't have too much confidence on the few that I made. Judging from the number of ground loops today I wasn't the only one having trouble. As a matter of fact, it was a sad day all the way around for section 50. [Hangebak?] was temporarily grounded for flying over the municipal airport and part of Kansas City, Quitlen & Hotchkiss ground looped, and Perkins got two downchecks - the latter will probably get extra hours, however. Bob got his 1st hour of dual instruction today. Was quite enthusiastic over the prospect.
