Saving...
Thursday - Jan. 15. President Roosevelt has a big, big job ahead of him. I have been pretty much in accord with his foreign policy, and I suppose a fellow shouldn't be too critical if he is remiss here & there in handling a situation of such magnitude. However, if he doesn't coordinate this defense effort and properly head the production supply angle pretty soon things aren't going to go so well. He has an excellent opportunity to further unify the nation and bolster the defense program efficiency by appointing a couple of Republicans to important posts. The men I have in mind are Willkie and Hoover. The former is of proven merit and has been big enough to support Roosevelt's foreign policies despite the censure of the old heads of the G.O.P. Hoover had incomparable experience in the last war and is of undoubted ability. We need a coalition gov't of some kind as well as the services of the best men in the country regardless
