who are helping Col. Peters with his administrative work and also teaching math. They both had excellent college educations in the east, majoring in engineering, I believe, and, now, are doing their part in this war but not in a field which they would prefer. Sunday, Jan. 18 Attended services at 3rd church located at 40th grand this Sunday rather than at 1st church as I have done heretofore. Mrs. McKay spied me before church started and asked me to sit with her which I gladly did. Must have been some experience for her to hear me sing. Luckily, however, there was a woman right across the aisle who lustely and vigorously drowned out what little volume I had. After services I met Mrs McKay's oldest girl Mary Alice who is now married. She, too, was exceptionally nice looking. They are nice family in every respect. My acquaintance and association with them has been much to my liking. Took Merle home only to find that she had play practice that night outlawing
