Thursday - Jan 22 Had my second hour and a half check with Bergen today. Things went quite well. He even went so far as to mutter a word or two of commendation. Some concession for him, although I'll have to admit he has been very decent with me all the way through. If I can improve my cross wind landing a little I shall feel that I have mastered pretty well that which I have thus far been taught. Effective this date the student personnel is not secure until 5pm an hour later than heretofore. The whole right wind was on clean-up detail between 1600 & 1700 this afternoon. The Colonel talks as if this may be a daily procedure - perish the thought! Because of all this I was a little late getting over to McKay's for my date. Mrs. McKay was gone so Merle put on the dinner - pork chops, french fried potatoes, peas, hot rolls & strawberry jam - mighty good. I
