a useless and meaningless job - don't blame the boys for not turning to with more enthusiasm. Can't refrain from observing once again the lack of leadership and organization around here. Just where the fault originates is hard to say. I guess we are all a little unfitted for our job, right down the line. Nobody seems to know for sure just what should be done under a given set of circumstances. Too often in a military organization leadership is gained through seniority or political appointment and not merit itself. Superimposed leadership is seldom successful. The headlines in tonight's papers put the blame for the Pearl Harbor catastrophe on Admiral Kimmel & Lt. Gen. Short. The committee headed by Ass. Justice Roberts indicted both men for failure to work together and for complacently refusing to recognize the danger of such an attack despite the fact they were warned time and again by responsible men in the gov't & in
