Saturday - Jan. 31 Slept late for the first time since I was last at home. Strange, yet a good thing, the way man can become accustomed to changed circumstances. I seldom feel the need of extra sleep while at the base even though we arise at 5:45 A.M. regardless of what time we get to bed. And yet, the moment I get home a ten hour snooze seems most welcome. Spent a very leisurely day around home. Did have my car washed - it has needed a lathing for a good long time. Bought a book on how to speak Spanish - hope I have the time and ambition to make use of it in the next few months. read a few more of Churchill's speeches in the volume "Blood, Sweat, and Tears." None of them ever fail to leave me thrilled and inspired. Bibba sent me a copy of the dedication she wrote for her Hawkeye. I thought it exceptionally fine and said so to the best of my ability in
