the return mail. Father helped me make out my income tax for the past year. I didn't make as much as last year but paid more, nonetheless. I am not filing a state income tax this year since Nebraska has none and since I am no longer located in Iowa City. Trust that I am within the law in doing this. By the time I have paid my income tax, re-imbursed father for my car license plates, and taken care of my gas & oil expense from K.C. and back I shall have made a pretty good hole in my exchequer. Hope that my service check is in when I get back to the base. Hard for me to realize with what unconcern I tell the folks of my social activities. It was not always thus by a long shot. Must admit my present attitude is much more normal - and makes mother much happier. Why I never truly enjoyed the company of women until the past two or three years, I'll never know.
