moment. Finally, and regretfully, I was bidding Merle an affectionate, and somewhat difficult, farewell. It was with a mutual feeling of reluctance that we parted. Our little affair has come along rather rapidly this past weeek. Just where it stands now, or where either of us wants it to stand, I don't know. It has been grand. I only hope nobody's feeling get hurt. And so ends my stay in Kansas City - pleasantly and happily. Tomorrow I head for New Orleans - and with very little sleep this night. Tuesday - Feb. 3rd Up at 5:45 AM as per usual hoping that we might get an early start for the south - but no such luck. They kept us hanging around waiting for our orders until after two oclock in the afternoon.
