the French quarter. The latter area was particularly interesting and picturesque. The streets were extremely narrow, being one way affairs for the most part. The buildings were unpainted and of a period long since past. Nearly all of them had small iron railed balconies just like the movies of the old South portray. We spotted Arnaud's & Antoine's -- those two famous restaurants claiming to have been in business for a 100 years or so. Hope to have an opportunity to eat at both places before being assigned to another base. Around 3:30 PM we reported aboard our new base located on Lake Pontchartrain. Lot of building going on around here. They evidently are intending to enlarge the base considerably. From all I can gather the liberty around here in going to be practically me. Boy, am I going to miss K.C. and Merle the Pearl
