Saving...
he must wish for the day when the tide will turn, & he can tell of Allied victories. Had a letter from father today saying that Ben had passed the physical at K.C. & had enlisted in the Naval Air Corps, but wouldn't be called until after his graduation in June. So glad he made it ok & that he will be able to get his degree. Still raining like mad outside. Hope I'll be able to get my car out of the parking lot tomorrow alright This talk about southerners resenting the presence of northern boys is quite exaggerated. I believe a few feel that way no doubt but most of them are quite friendly once you get to know them. Monday - Feb. 16. Spent most of the day getting checked out - bedding turned in, jackets returned, also books, etc. Around three oclock everything was taken care of and Haugebak, Agan, Pettit & I headed up town for a look around. First, we all got a hair cut, next to a movie, & finally down into the French quarter for dinner at Antoines. I tried their famous oysters
