Saving...
Was pretty cold today - not different from Northern weather in the early spring. Rumored that it will get down to 18° tonight. Can hardly believe it! Reviewed a copy of the "Life of Will Rogers" by O'Brien from grandma today. There was no accompanying letter. I don't know what prompted her to send it. Doubt if I'll be able to find time to read it. Very thoughtful of her, however, as always. Friday - Feb 20 Most of the morning was taken up by the physical exam. It was pretty exacting as are all Navy tests, and it was a relief to get the ok sign. They certainly go over a fellow with a fine tooth comb. A lot of it seems pretty unnecessary, and there is no doubt that some of the best flyers couldn't measure up in some respects, just as many of the best athletes don't seem to possess the necessary physical requisites; however, where the selection has to be made in such a short time from such a large group, any other method would hardly do.
