Saving...
It has been my observation that if a Navy really wants a man of evident ability, they readily waive minor physical deficiencies. This afternoon those cadets who had received their blue uniforms formed into battalions, marched out to the parade ground, & while we in khaki looked on, the names of those to graduate this week were read off. It was a rather impressive sight to watch these young men swing by in perfect cadence & step, chins up, chests out, arms moving in perfect unison. Went to the basketball game after supper between the N. A. S. & Millsaps College of Jackson, Miss. The Goslings had no trouble with them, whatsoever, having them far outclassed. Its a little late in the season, but I think I shall report for basketball tomorrow, if for nothing more than the exercise & to avoid standing watch duty. As has been true for the past two weeks I haven't been following the war news very closely, but it seems to me that it is about time the United Nations assume the offensive a little bit.
