Each passing week, now, as I move from one base to another, meet old friends & make new acquaintances, I begin to realize what a great game football really is - and I get the urge to get in the harness again. I must elaborate this and comment more fully in the near future. Saturday - Feb. 21 At the request of C. P. O. Huff I reported to the athletic office at 0800 for a picture shaking hands with Mr. Stack the football coach here at the base. Stack formerly played at Yale and is now an A. V. S. with an ensign's commission. In our ensuing conversation he suggested that I come out for baseball on Monday, and after he told me of their schedule & I made haste in assuring him that I would. They play La., Mich. State, Alabama, several other colleges & the Jacksonville base team - ten games in the first two weeks. They really go for athletics down here - hope I can make the club, it has been 5 or 6 yrs since I played any baseball. Checked out my ground school books which leaves me all set to
