College exposes a man to courses in a great many fields, it opens up new vistas & possibilities but it is the continuous reading & study a man does after he graduates that determines whether he will ever be educated or not. There a good many thing I don't like about military life - and there undoubtedly will be more. But, nonetheless, the education and experience gained in military service is invaluable, I am sure. I believe I would like to have my boys attend West Point or Annapolis after a couple of years of I. A. school, if they so desired. This afternoon we listened to a three hour lecture on high altitude flying and the effect of lack of oxygen has on pilots. It was rather interesting, but also, left one feeling enslaved to the physical forces - hardly, god's man with "dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, the cattle, and everything that creepeth on the earth."
