84 Eves Pudding. If you like a good pudding pray mind what you are taught Take 2 pennyworth of Eggs when you've 12 for a groat Take of the same fruit that Eve did once Cozen When pared & well Chopt at least half a Dozen Six oz of Bread let your maid eat the Crust The Crumb must be grated as small as the Dust Six oz of Currants from the Stones you must sort Lest they break your poor Tooth & spoil all your sport Five oz. of sugar won't make it too sweet some salt & some Nutmeg to make it Compleat Three Hours let it boil without hurry or flutter And then serve it up with good melted Butter Eve made this Pudding so wonderous nice That Adam cried out pray give me a slice Milk Punch Pare one Dozen of Lemmons, one of Oranges thin Steep the Peels in four Gallons of the best Rum 24 hours put 12 lb of the finest loaf sugar into six Gallons of Water with the Whites of 12 Eggs beat to a froth. Boil & scum it well when quite Cold mix it all in a Vessel add two quarts of New Milk put it into a Barrel shake it well stop it up close let it stand 2 Months. The Barrel should be quite Dry fix in the Cock & the Barrel when it is first made that it may not be shook when perfectly Clear drain it off it must not be Corked till the next Day. The best season to make it is February or March
