45 Center Ala Oct 23d 1865 Monday J. D. Gillam & Muchmore 27" Iowa one year,s men left for hours to day by reason of expiration of Service. Mailed a letter to Father, A Minister by name of Rowel preached this evening to quite an audience of Citizens Soldiers, &c He is a Smart old man and the Citizens say that He was the man most instrumental in taking Alabama out of the Union,, as He violated His promise and opposed the plan of refering the Secession Ordinance back to the people. He being a Member of that Convention which passed that Ordinance,
