(37) To make rid Colour Take a quarter of a pound of [illegible]. beat it very well in a morter with halfe an ounce of Cream of Tartar & a little peice of Allam. then boile about halfe a pint of water & put them to it. let them boile together till the water be halfe boiled away. then put in half an ounce of sugar & strain it into a clean pot. & let it stand till it be cold & then it is fit for your use. it will keepe a great while To make green Colour Take 1 ounce of Gambouge. & 1 ounce of powder blew then boile a pint of water halfe away & put them to it & let them boile very well together till the water is halfe boiled away. then straine it into a cleane pot & it is fit for your use. you may make yellow with Gambouge only you must put in no blew.
