(144) To make Mr Daltons strong Mead Let your water boile one houre the day before you make your mead then put 6 Gallons & a halfe of water wine measure & put to it 6 quarts of honey. & gage your water to the quantity of mead that you intend to make. then boile it to about the quantity of 5 Gallons when it is cold yest it. & when it hath wrought 2 or 3 daies let it be [tund?]. but when you first put it to work put into it a whole Lemon pill it will be fit to drink in 6 moneths out of the barrell.
