Scarlet Dye The Flowers of the small red Poppy so common in ever Field being plucked off and heaped up in a Plate, and sprinkled with Lemon Juice and squueezed untill the colour is extracted will make a most beautiful Scarlet dye in which you may dye White Silk of any kind To dry apples Just boil them in new Ale Wort on a slow fire for a quarter of an hour. then take them out and press them flat, and dry them in your Oven or Stove; put them up in papers in a Box, and they will keep all the year. - A Seed Cake take a pound of Flour, one pound of powder'd Sugar, one pound of Butter, eight yolks & four Whites of Eggs, as many Carraway
