To clear and Make Vinegar or Alyar Sour Miss Porter To one Gallon of Vinegar half an ounce of Cream of Tartar a Small Lump of Alum about the Size of a Nut and a little Bay Salt. - To recover Wine rather prick'd - Mrs Thing Put two ounce of Isinglass Shavings to Soak in a quarter of the Liquor you want to Clear. beat it with a Whisk every day till dissolved - Draw off a third part of the Cask; and mix the above with it, also a quarter of an ounce of Pearl Ashes, one ounce of Salt of Tartar Calun'dair one ounce of burn Alum powder'd Stir it well - Then return the Liquor into the Cask - and Stir it well with a Clean Stick - Stop it up, and in a few days it will be fine -
