45 [Left margin] a good aperient powder given to [illegible] the Rectified [illegible] Rector A. Beecham Suffolk 21 August 1840 R. Calomel - Gt ii Cream o Tartar [ounce?] ii Pulv. refined Sugar - qtt iix J. Pulv. prande Nocte cum [illegible] to make blacking for rendering shoes & boots waterproof R. Tallow - 1/2 lb Beeswax - 2 oz - Clear Oil - 2 oz - melt the above together in a Vessel over a fire stirring the sauce while in the act of melting Rub the leather with this mixture, well with the warmth of the hand only - use no blacking - [left margin] Capt. [Row?] Frederick Buswood Park Surry - Recipe for the cure of Epileptic Fits Pulv. [illegible] from the Oak - 1 oz Pulv. Ginger (Jamaica) - 1/4 oz best french Brandy - 1 Tablespoonful infused in a Pint of Spring Water - of which mixture take a Wineglassful three or four times a day till the Cure is effected - W Lee of [illegible] [left margin] Dr. W. Carreghan Recipe for the cure of the yellow jaundice Take a new egg every morning before breakfast - an hour after breakfast - again at D - one of clock another at 3 and another about 6 of clock in the evening without [illegible] entirely when [illegible] Eggs - to be cured
