The best bitters in England for Gentlemens' Stomachs. 2 oz of gentian root sliced Peel of six seville oranges or an ounce of the dried peel. 4 penny worth of snake root Do Saffron 1 Dr. of Cochineal powdered 6 Cloves put into a quart of good brandy. Let it stand by the fire a week & strain. Revd. L. L. Smith. Eau de Cologne oil of Rosemary - 1/2 oz oil of Orange Peel - 1/2 oz oil of Lemon Peel - 1/2 oz orange - flower water - 1 pint Rectified spirits of Wine - 3 pints Mr. Bridgewater
