Saturday January 24th 1880 We worked very busy all the forenoon doing the baking. And Mother and I both went to town in the afternoon. I went to Mrs [Wondans?] and began some work on card board and worked on it all the evening. Sunday January 25th 1880 I helped do the morning work and went to church. In the afternoon we went over to the band of hope. Win came back with us. I wrote to Charlie in the evening. The town was startled by the intelligence that Tom Mahon had killed himself. Monday January 26th 1880 I did the washing this morning and Mother went to town in the afternoon I attended to the house work. Rob and Hatt took supper at Wins and spent the evening there. Mr Taylor from Washington Co stayed here all night. I wrote a letter to Lou Reeves in the evening. Weather pleasant.
