Friday December 24th 1880 We washed again this forenoon and I was busy about the work most of the afternoon Hattie has seemed better all day. Saturday December 25th 1880 Surely this is not a very merry christmas for us when Hattie is so sick for she is worse today We got some dinner and I went over town with Mr Day in the cutter to get a few things We had oysters for supper When I was over town went to look at Hattie Huntington who is to be buried tomorrow John got me a nice silk neck handkerchief for a christmas present. Sunday December 26th 1880 Hattie very sick all day the doctor here twice and it was a snowy cold day and a sad one for us Mrs Fletcher and Frank were here awhile in the evening
