Gooseberry Cakes . (116) Scalt the gooseberries and rub them through a Sieve, to every pound of pulp one pound of loaf Sugar powdered and Sifted. beat them together, pour them upon dishes to dry - They must be keept in a warm place until dry -- Biscuits - (117) A quarter of a pound of butter to a pound of flour, a Small spoonful of yeast, mixed very Stiff with cold water and to be well worked, them let it Stand a little while to rise. Roll the paste out very thin and cut out the biscuits any Shape you please and bake them in a Sharp oven after stomping or pricking them [illegible] White Ginger Cakes (118) Five eggs leaving out one white, three quarters of a pound of Sifted loaf Sugar, and one ounce of ginger. beat these ingredients together for one hour, then add a pound of flour drop them on tins and bake them in a slow oven - [high?] Domestics -
