To fix pencil or Chalk Drawings A weak solution of gum mastic in alcohol The proportion are 1 oz of alcohol to 10 grains of gum mastic. The gum is to be pulverized, put into the Spirit and left 4 or 5 day, at the end of which time a clear solution will be obtained. The solution to be put on as quickly as possible with a large flat brush Lavender Water 1/2 pint of Spirit of wine, 3 pennyworth of ambergsis, 5 do of oil of lavender - Camphor paste for chapped Hands 2 1/2 oz of oil of almonds, 1/2 oz of white wax, 1/2 oz of [spermearite?], 1/2 oz of camphor - These ingredients to be slic'd small and melted in a basin then [illegible] in by degrees a little rose water until it becomes a stiff paste or cream perfectly smooth. - E. Torcaster Froth Powder Roll amber(inc) 1 oz, pint [Haislion?] 1/2 oz, powdered Bark 2 dreachms cinnamon 2 do - good for the tooth ache - Mrs Duding
