For Salad Dressing The yolks of two hard boiled Eggs beaten quite smooth with 2 tablespoonsful of water - then add 2 tablespoonsful of Sallad oil & mix them well together a tea spoonful of made mustard & vinegar according to the thickness required 3 or 4 Table spoonsful Salt to the taste - The vinegar must not be added till all the other ingredients are thoroughly mixed - To preserve Strawberries whole - Pick the best Scarlet Strawberries & over night strew a little powdered Loaf Sugar over them - On the following morning drain the Syrup from the Strawberries - This Syrup must not be use for the Strawberries but will make good Jelly for creams by putting a lb of Sugar to the pint & boiling three quarters of an hour - Add a lb of Sugar to a pint of Strawberries & simmer them for 10 minutes but do not let them boil - Take out the Fruit & then boil the Syrup half an hour & pour over them. Good Soup 1049 Meadows - A gang of Sheeps feet stew them gently 2 hours in a gallon of water - drain them & throw the Liquor away - Add 2 or 3 quarts good broth & stew them till quite tender with an onion, celery Turnip & carrot strain off the feet & cut them into small dice pieces & add them to the soup with pepper & salt - Ketchup improves the flavour --
