Sun. Feby 17th, 1884. A dull wintry day. Confined to my room all day. Mon. Feby. 18th 1884. Weather cold and disagreeable. Was in the back part of the house most of the afternoon. Tues. Feby 19th 1884. A terrible blizzard from the N.W. In bed most of the day. Wed. Feby. 20th 1884. Weather cold and raw. Sick and confined to my room. Last night the 9th Anniversary of Junior Ex. Clan 76. Thurs. Feby 21st, 1884.Sick and confined to the house Hattie injured in a sleighing accident to Dr Gillett's team last night. Fri. Feby 22d, 1884. Washington's Birthday. No observance here. Sick and confined to my room. Hattie and the children over to spend the day. Weather very windy. Sat. Feby 23d, 1884. Sick and confined to my room. Peter paid me $80 on rental and borrowed money, and Gordon Denison paid $54.40 in full of borrowed money. Sun. Feby 24th 1884. Confined to my room all day. Washed tonight. Mon. Feby 25th, 1884. Still sick. Father left at 3.45 for Clarinda, [Illegible] He got $40 for blue cow sold to Dutch Philip. Tues. Feby. 26th 1884. Spent day in back part of house. Sent per Ott $22.18 to Ringgold Co. to pay taxes. Thurs. Feby 29th, 1884. Leap Year day! Weather cold and raw. Confined to the house all day. Reading a little.
