We tried to go in to some of the forts but they would not let us in. Yesterday I went down to the creek and washed my shirt and drawers out good and clean. I have been looking this day or two for a letter from home. Monroe got one last night from his wife and is answering It now. There is a general movement going on now there were troops going by here all last night. Some said they were going to Harpers Ferry but we dont know. We are In sight of the Capital and a part of the city of Washington. Tell Deloses wife that Delos is well and Is expecting a letter from her every day.
