Monday Nov 24th,,/62
Fairfax Nov. '62 Dear Mother
I hasten to write you a few lines in answer to your letter of Nov. 9th,, which I received night befere last. This day finds me this side of the grave &  enjoying the blessings of health. We have marched from Thoroughfare Gap since I wrote to you, we reached here Wednesday night Started from there Monday night about sundown

if we should get into winter quarters here I should like to have you &  Lib & Lucy Carpenter send send us some thing for we tent to gather now. but I will tell you when to send it &  some things I want & how to send it. I should like to have you send me a paper when you can for we do not get any news here now. I got some Money from Libbie Just as we left the Gap please write soon & tell Father write.
